Primesep B4 is a mixed-mode analytical column featuring basic ion-pairing groups embedded within a short carbon chain. It:
– Enhances the retention of acidic compounds through an anion-exchange mechanism.
– Retains and separates basic and acidic surfactants using a multi-mode mechanism.
– Separates hydrophobic bases via an ion-exclusion mechanism.
– Retains hydrophobic neutral compounds through a reverse-phase mechanism.
The mobile phases can be optimized for LC-MS and preparative chromatography, and can also be chosen for low UV detection (with a working pH range from 2.0 to 4.5).
