Reversed-Phase Column with the Lowest Hydrophobicity
YMC-Pack TMS exhibits shorter retention times than other packing materials and is useful for developing faster methods for highly hydrophobic compounds. Additionally, this stationary phase can oftentimes achieve greater retention and better separation of hydrophilic analytes than other reversed-phase columns due to its unique separation characteristics.
YMC-Pack TMS columns are bonded with trimethylmonochlorosilane to create a phase with intermediate polarity. This makes for a versatile stationary phase that is useful for analysis of extremely hydrophobic compounds using conventional reversed-phase solvents, or highly polar compounds using high aqueous solvents. The unique chemistry of this packing material is also well-suited for the analysis of multifunctional compounds. Selectivity characteristics of a C1 bonded phase can be unique, and samples must be evaluated to determine the applicability of the phase.
- Shortest of all alkyl-bonded phases
- Intermediate polarity between normal-phase silica and other alkyl-bonded reversed-phases
